What a party!  We celebrated Jens'  50th in BIG style.  Friends, family, colleagues and business associates literaly flew in from around the globe to spend this momentous occassion with him. Compliments to TRENNERYS HOTEL for playing the perfect host.   Although his birthday is officially on Wednesday, celebrations had to be earlier in order to avoid the soccer rush and influx of tourists.  Speaking of which, flags are flying  all over the place and soccer fever is running high.  All nations are comnig together to compete and participate in the FIFA Wolrd Cup 2010.  We wish all the teams good luck.

 Dear Diane & Polla,

Thank you so much for making our stay with you so special.  We felt at home - only after 2 nights, which is quite an achievement.  We also enjoyed the visit to the Abalone Farm.  That was interesting and again we were treated with great hospitality.

I have throphy animals from accross the US, but I have never had so many great hunting adventures as I had over the past couple of weeks I spent at Thorndale Safari with Polla, Diane and staff.  Not only were all my expectations met, but exceeded.  The hunts were draining and exciting.  The experience is all I ever dreamed of, from the service to the Lodge to the difficulty of the hunt.

Four SCI throphies among the animals taken to the nightly feasts and service was impeccable.  The Lodge is a dream and can only be described as five star.  I am already in the planning stages for my next South African Hunting Adventure! - Again, Polla was the perfect host, from being picked up at Port Elizabeth airport and the whole time spent at Thorndale Safari.

Thanks Thorndale! - As a young boy, I had always dreamed of an African adventure and I got one.

After reading the article by Engee Potgieter on the Cape Grysbok it was my dream to hunt one of Arfica's tiny ten.  I knew it was difficult and I searched the internet for hunting farms that offer the Cape Grysbok.

I eventually contacted Thorndale Safaris (Mr. Polla Fourie) who was most obliging and helpful.  I was also very apprehensive as I was only 15 years old.  Once the necessary confirmations and deposit was finalized, I could not wait for the day.  I dreamt many a night of the Grysbok Hunt.

On the day that we were to fly to Port Elizabeth, I was up first and ready to go at 05h00.  However my dad is a slow coach and we needed him along because of the rifle so I had to tolerate his pace.  The flight from Durban to Port Elizabeth was only an hour and fifteen minutes long, but it took forever.

At the airport, we were met by Mr. Polla Fourie who collected us and drove us to the farm.  He was talkative and most hospitable and he gave me the assurance of a successful hunt.

I commented to my dad that Throndale Safari was a very professional outfit and always made us feel comfortable.  We met  Anton Mostert, the Professional Hunter and he also had the courtesy, gentleness and patience of Mr. Polla Fourie.

The accommodation was comfortable and very clean.  On the first day we sighted our rifle in, and thereafter hunted the Grysbok.  I was fortunate to fulfil my dream of hunting the Grysbok.  The following day I hunted a Steenbok and a Grey Duiker. My brother Yusuf, had the opportunity of hunting the Grey Duiker and Warthog.

I would not hesitate to recommend anybody to Thorndale Safari.  The Safari Packages on offer are market related and individual needs can be catered for.  Mr. Fourie even took care of all my taxidermy needs.  What an experience!  Thank you Mr. Fourie and Anton Mostert.

Trip of a lifetime...?

My husband wanted to shoot in South Africa for his 50th Birthday, what a mistake that was?  He has now been 14 times!  Thorndale Safari have got a lot to answer for.  It is not just the Hunters that get taken care of.  I adopted the - "If you can't beat them, join them!" stance, and now I go as well.  We also take our Grandchildren or a least 2 of them, they have become keen Hunters and are only 14 and 15, but have shot a great number of animals, from the smallest to the largest imaginable.

I have total confidence in the Professional Hunters who accompany the party at all times, making safety their priority.  We no longer think of ourselves as just another paying guest, but more like one of the family.  Polla & Jens are able to put togteher a package to suit your budget, tailor made for each individual.  If you would like any further information we would be only too willing to help and to share some of our experiences with you.

I stayed at Thorndale Safari for 7 days and I had a blast.  Thorndale Safari has an abundance of Game, varied Terrain and, not least, friendly and serviceminded staff that ensure a warm and relaxed no-rush atmosphere.  Food, drink and accommodation are great.  I highly recommend Thorndale Safari for both experienced Hunter, as well as Beginners!

Dear Polla & Diane,

Thank you very much for your hospitality.  We had a very good time on your farm.  The lodge is so comfortable and the whole Team is professional & friendly.  There are a lot of wild animals and the Throphie Hunts are great!  We are hoping to return soon.  Thanks again!
